Shaping the Future: How The Scout Association is Developing Its New Strategy (United Kingdom): We’ll explore how The Scout Association is building its new strategy using a data-informed, insight-driven, and people-focused approach. We’ll look at how external research, internal data, and the voices of young people, parents, and front-line volunteers are brought together to shape a relevant, inclusive, and ambitious direction for the future. We’ll share how engagement events, surveys, and workshops have played a key role in the process, and how we’re ensuring the strategy reflects the needs and aspirations of the movement and wider society. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own experiences within their own organisation and contribute ideas on effective strategy development in a values-led, volunteer-powered organisation.

Empowering South Eastern European organisations through environmental projects – Boranka (Croatia): SIH has ensured financial support to enrol Boranka in Macedonia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina through the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Through environmental activity of that scale, Public Relations and marketing are key aspects that bring recognition of organisations in the public space. The pattern is there; it just needs to be reused.

Resilience through Guiding and Scouting – How Guiding and Scouting lay the foundation for your Mental Health (Switzerland): In this workshop, we’ll discuss the fundamentals of developmental psychology and the principle of resilience factors. We’ll connect those theories to our knowledge of Guiding and Scouting and shed light on how one benefits the other. Furthermore, we’ll discuss how we, as organisations, can consciously promote positive mental health factors and resilience in our structures and our programmes.

Leading the Leaders: WAGGGS Leadership Model in ZHP’s Work with Adult Volunteers (Poland): How do you implement a leadership model across a nationwide volunteer-based organisation? In this interactive session, we will share ZHP’s (the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association) step-by-step journey of introducing and embedding the WAGGGS Leadership Model into work with adult volunteers. This practical case study explores the behind-the-scenes process, from initial translations, content development, and internal consultations to pilot phases and organisation-wide rollout. Participants will learn how we aligned the model with existing systems, created a realistic timeline, and engaged leaders at various levels. We’ll openly discuss our successes and challenges, including what helped us move forward and what slowed us down. The session will also showcase original tools developed to bring the Leadership Model to life in everyday work with adult leaders, tools adaptable to other contexts. Whether planning a similar implementation or looking for inspiration in leadership development, this workshop offers a reflective perspective and practical takeaways.
