It is very well located and connected to the public underground system which will take you into the center of the city easily.

Vienna Central Station (Wien Hauptbahnhof) provides various transportation options for travellers heading into the city or to their accommodations. The Vienna Public Transport system offers efficient services, including trains and trams, with connections to various parts of the city.

For a more budget-friendly option, the city’s public buses operate regularly from the station. Travellers can check Google Maps for routes and schedules to find the best option for reaching their desired destination. Keep in mind, that for the duration of the conference, you will have the opportunity to use the public transportation system for free with your registration ID ! 

A tramway line connects the station with the Conference hotel directly.

Departing VIENNA International Airport

Vienna International Airport provides a range of transportation options for travelers heading into the city or to their accommodations. Public transport operates from the airport to various stops, including the city centre. Check Google Maps for the appropriate bus route to take.

Tip: the CAT is a fast way to get into the city, however the trains also run into the center of the city on a regular basis and are a lot cheaper for you to use.

Visa information

It is the responsibility of the individual participants and/or their member organisation to check they require a visa to travel to and enter Austria. 


The competent authority of the individual’s country will provide relevant information. Complimentary information is available on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria.

Should you require a visa please make sure to request it well in advance as applications submitted to the Austrian authorities later than three months prior to the expected date of entry will not be considered. The host team will issue a letter in support of a visa application upon request addressed to the Joint Conference Secretariat. Please note that such a letter will only be provided once a participant is duly registered.
